The Midnight Library is another beautiful and though-provoking book by Matt Haig. It tries to answer a few of the essential dilemmas in life – what is its meaning, what is true happiness and how to live without regrets.
📚
According to the book, there is a library between life and death, and within that library, the shelves go on infinitely. Every book provides a chance to try a parallel life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices.
📚
This is quite an emotional book and it starts with the main character Nora trying to end her life. But it is not a gloomy story; in fact, its quite inspirational and eye-opening journey on what could have been. And it is all done in a light-hearted Matt Haig style. Book explores take on depression, anxiety, regrets, suicide and effect of those things on yourself and people around you.
📚
We have recently been reading a few books involving time travel and the possibility of altering your past life. Some were about fixing mistakes, and some were just about reliving a moment. And in Midnight Library it was all about “book of regrets”.
📚
Would you do anything differently, if you had the chance to undo any of your regrets? We tried to answer this question in our discussion but decided that we would be too afraid to change even a tiny thing if there is a chance of losing what we have now.💖
📚
“If you aim to be something you are not, you will always fail. Aim to be you. Aim to look and act and think like you. Aim to be the truest version of you. Embrace that you-ness. Endorse it. Love it. Work hard at it. And don’t give a second thought when people mock it or ridicule it. Most gossip is envy in disguise.”
📚
Unique, inspirational and must-read book this year.

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
4.5 out of 5 combined from both of us.
