Thank you to @or_anderson and @penguinukbooks for sending this my way – I loved it.
Gladwell’s most recent book is an epic exploration into why we still don’t understand strangers and how this causes errors on global scales.
In true Gladwell fashion, Talking to Strangers uses a wealth of case studies and fascinating theories to explain real life, and often world famous, stories. The meetings of Neville Chamberlain and Hitler, the false imprisonment of Amanda Knox and the case of Sarah Bland to name a few. This book breaks down each scenario and explains why they went to catastrophically wrong and why it’s not really our fault or the strangers fault we have no idea how to communicate with people we don’t know!
If you’ve enjoyed any of Gladwell’s previous works, you will love this and if this is your first jump into his excellent social philosophies, you will not be disappointed. ❤️📚 @malcolmgladwell @littlebrown
