Round up of what I read this month. A life story, some great stories, a selection of essays and some world history.
1. The Salt Path – Raynor Winn ~ Winn and her husband find themselves homeless and almost penniless resulting in their walking the South West Coast Path, probably my favourite book this month – @raynor.winn @penguinbooks
2. Machines Like Me – Ian McEwan ~ see previous post – @vintagebooks
3. Wow, No Thank You – Samantha Irby ~ A brilliant collection of essays covering a range of topics from moving to the countryside to getting older to body positivity – @bitchesgottaeat @faberbooks
4. Conversations with Friends – Sally Rooney ~ Rooney’s first novel is narrated by Frances who, with her best friend Bobbi, form an unusual friendship with a married couple Nick and Melissa, Rooney’s style and characters never disappoint – @faberbooks
5. Sapiens – Yuval Noah Harari ~ the international, bestselling history of the human does not disappoint! @yuval_noah_harari @vintagebooks
6. The Beekeeper of Aleppo – Christy Lefteri ~ the story of a couple who seek safety from Aleppo in the UK but first they have to endure the well trodden and traumatic journey through Europe – @lefterichristy @manilla_press
