✨📚REVIEW BY 🧔&👩🏻🦰✨
This innocent-looking book, written beautifully in verse, packs a lot more than you can think of initially. Death of a parent, infidelity, sexual harassment, attempted sexual assault and poverty.
And no – it’s not a thriller. The book moves beautifully through the lives of Camino and Yahaira. Two sisters in living in separate parts of the world. Camino doesn’t have the best of everything. She lives in a poor but still comfortable house in the Dominican Republic. Her father made sure to provide her necessities and a good education. Yahaira lives in New York and follows the life of a typical western teenager. And the father of both – he lives between both of them—a secret life. Until the day his plane crashes.
Beautifully written, moving, heartbreaking story about grief, loss and new beginnings. We highly recommend to pick it up. We were admiring the power of verses the author uses to create and amplify the emotions of both sisters.
Four packs of peanuts of five.
