Messy Wonderful Us is a kinda love story about two long time friends Allie and Ed, who venture to Italy to find out the truth about Allie’s father. Ed is thinking to leave his pregnant wife because of abbusive behaviour so he tags along Allie just to get away and think about it. So probably nothing else needed to be said – you can already imagine where this story is going and how it is going to unravel.
It started really slow for me, I was disconnected at least 3/4 of the book , but was still determined to finish. I wanted this book to be a quick easy and cheesy in between other books I am reading, but it didnt really deliver any of it. Unfortunately it was really predictable and also slightly cringey. The only good twist was about Allie’s suspected father’s identity.
Also I think I would have liked this book more if I would read it on a beach with a mojito in my hand 😂
It is very mediocre beach read for me 🤷
QOTD: do you think a place where you read can influence your rating for a book? 🤔
