One of my favourite books from this year. A 600 page epic from John Boyne following the story of Cyril Avery.
Set predominantly in Ireland, Boyne tells a brilliant and compelling tale of sexuality, friendship, love and the complexities of understanding oneself against the backdrop of an Ireland ruled by strong traditional beliefs supported by the Catholic Church.
The characters are rich, the story line thrilling and the themes enticing and thought provoking, making this an utterly enjoyable read that will make you laugh 😆 and cry 😭 and a pretty cross 🤬 at times.
A must for your Christmas list ❤️📚
