Maybe what you’re wishing for or wishing you didn’t have in the current climate, but not quite what Virginia Woolf meant when she wrote this little gem in the early 20th century.
This Penguin classic is essentially two feminist lectures from Woolf on female writers specifically and women (and their plight) in general. She discusses the female characters and female writers through time continually coming back to her main point that women need financial independence in order to have intellectual freedom.
A must read for any budding feminist or indeed anyone curious about the rights of women.
Given to me by a great woman – thank you @laura.diggens (btw she’s kind of great artist and has a room of her own where she makes great art so you should check out her stuff) ❤️📚
