January round up – can’t really believe we’re already one month into 2021.
I’ve read a real range of fiction set all over the world this month which has been a great form of escape for lockdown 3.0.
1. The Thursday Murder Club by @misterosman published by @vikingbooksuk – my fave this month, see previous post.
2. A Fine Balance by @i_am_rohinton published by @faberbooks – a fantastic piece of historical fiction, see previous post.
3. This Mournable Body by @tsitsidangarembga published by @faberbooks – the story of Tambu, a woman who’s life is not what she expected despite her education and best efforts, who continues to be dealt a poor hand in a newly independent Zimbabwe.
4. My Dark Vanessa by @kateelizabethrussell published by @4thestatebooks – a dark and twisted love story from the point of view of an abuse victim, see previous post.
