🕰️ Every once in a while, but not very often, you come across a book that surprises you, that leaves you with goosebumps after having read the last page, maybe even makes you shed few tears. “The time traveler’s wife” is that kind of book. Stunningly beautiful, beyond words.

🕰️ The book tells the rather unusual love story between Henry and Clare. What’s so unique about that, given the dozens of love stories cluttering the shelves in the bookstores worldwide? What makes it interesting is the fact that Henry is a time traveller. Due to some shenanigans in his genes, he lives not only in the present, but pops up in the past, or the future. For that matter, he is leaving nothing but a pile of clothes on the floor wherever he vanished and arriving naked at his destination. No one knows when it will happen, what time he’s coming from or what decade he’s travelling to.

🕰️ Book has its issues tho. For the start – there are few too many unnecessary things going on. This includes OBSCENE amounts of sex (I seriously doubt they had time for anything else), annoying, political thoughts and paragraphs of citations of music and bands that we couldn’t care less.

🕰️ Despite all that – it is a fantastic book. A painstakingly beautiful love story with little sci-fi elements. Already a classic.

  1. I haven’t read this since it came out but I remember being so swoony about it that I read it twice in a row.

  2. My brother suggested this book years ago so we read it together. I love books about time travel, especially when the approach is so different than you expect.
